Welcome to BAESI—An Earth Science resource hub for teachers
The Bay Area Earth Science Institute (BAESI) has provided professional development for pre-college teachers since 1990. Opportunities through BAESI include one-day Saturday and multi-day workshops that feature a mix of content background and pedagogy, field trips in central California, a lending library at San José State University (SJSU), and this web site.
This site is aimed chiefly at pre-college teachers who do or could incorporate geoscience content and activities in their classes. The site is intended for teachers everywhere, not just in the S.F. Bay Area. In fact, non-teachers may find much of interest here, too.
