Computer Modelling in the Sciences with Matlab 4 cr. Computer models are increasingly becoming necessary tools for scientists. This class will feature an introduction to Matlab and will focus on using computer models, written by the students, to address typical problems faced by scientists. We will model processes such as glacier growth and movement, predator-prey cycles, and landscape evolution. No previous computer experience required. One semester college calculus and physics recommended.
