M.S. 1968 and Ph.D. 1970, Stanford University.
Professor and Department Chair, Engineering Geology. Ongoing research involves detection of slope instabilities, mechanics of landslide movement, seismically induced ground failures, effective landuse planning, and issues of ethics in the geosciences.
